Management Consultant – IT Project Manager | Back To Top
Freed & Associates is a boutique health care consulting firm specializing in managing high profile, high stakes consulting projects for healthcare organizations based in California. Informally, our clients call us to clean up the chaos left behind by vendors and other consulting firms that weren’t able to get the job done.We specialize in board-visible, high profile, “someone’s going to get fired if this project isn’t done right and on time” kind of projects in provider and health plan environments. This is our specialty. We are very good at it and we’re expanding our team to meet the demand for our services.
We recruit premier consultants and industry professionals that know provider (hospital and medical groups) and health plan operations and IT inside and out. We especially like recruiting those who are extremely talented, yet frustrated by their current jobs – either due to heavy travel schedules, lack of work/lifestyle balance, or working in a corporate environment that doesn’t respect and appreciate what you do.
We’re able to attract and keep our great team because of our very unique culture and working environment. Our firm was founded on a few simple ideas:
- If we take really good care of you, you will take really good care of our clients.
- You don’t just want to be paid well (which we do) – you want to have challenging work, high caliber colleagues that push you to be better, and the ability to build a career around the lifestyle you want to lead.
We don’t just pay lip service to these ideals. It is at the heart of how we treat our people. For example, we pay 100% (yes 100%, that is NOT a typo) of the cost of medical, dental, vision, long-term disability AND life insurance. Our healthcare benefit package is among the best in the industry.
We do offer flexibility and are seeking full time employees, however, if you are interested in working 3 to 4 days a week, you should still contact us, as we do offer more flexible options than other companies.
Our consultants decide what kind of lifestyle they want to lead first, and then mold their career with us around those personal needs. At other firms, you’re expected to work like crazy and let your personal life get whatever remaining scraps of energy and time you might have left.
Type of Work
Our clients are major healthcare providers and payors primarily located in California. Our client contacts are typically the CEO, CFO or CIO of these organizations.
We provide a wide array of services to our clients, so our team’s versatility and flexibility is key, as is their interest in a diversity of assignments.
Here’s a sample of the kind of work you’d be doing for our clients:

- Provide interim management services, for example, Director of Clinical Applications or PMO.
- Always partner with our client at all levels, transferring our knowledge and teaching them what they need to know to carry forward the results of our work.
- Always manage issues and risks, and identify more ways we can collaborate and add value to our client.
What We Look For In You:
We recognize that highly talented people come in a variety of “packages.” You should know we have very talented and unique group of consultants. That being said, we’ve found the people with the following skills and experiences tend to do well.
