Dava Freed has been awarded the inaugural Commemorative Anniversary Legacy Award by Operation Access, a nonprofit with which Dava has been closely involved for 20 years. Operation Access enables Bay Area health care providers to donate vital surgical and specialty care to people in need. Dava has served as Chair of the OA Institute Advisory Committee and was a founding member of the Advisory Council, in addition to being on the Board of Directors.
In her acceptance remarks, Dava expressed pride in the bridges that OA builds between organizations that would normally be considered competitors, and who have come together to help close the healthcare gap. She is also proud of OA’s success in allowing physicians to volunteer in a meaningful way as they provide surgical procedures for the uninsured and underserved.
