Often donned in waders and boots, Freed consultants and their families volunteered for the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy to help clear invasive weeds and cattails from picturesque Muir Beach. The event was one of three annual Freed-planned community service events.
Volunteers helped restore the tidal lagoon. In addition to pulling invasive weeds, volunteers helped to maintain the new native plants along the Dias Ridge overlooking the beach. The efforts were for the benefit of the endangered Coho salmon, steelhead trout, and California red-legged frog, among other species.
